Root Canal Treatment Fort Lee

A Pain-Free Smile in Less Time

Toothaches can come in many forms, each with a different underlying cause. Sinus congestion, a cavity, a crack, or even sensitivity can be the culprit. However, if an infection or significant damage reaches the pulp – the innermost layer of a tooth – the problem can only be addressed with root canal treatment. Our Feels Good Dental team will ensure your comfort and safety should we recommend this procedure, and if you’re ready to stop the pain as soon as possible, don’t hesitate to give us a call.

What Happens During a Root Canal?

After examining the tooth in question using our CT/Cone Beam Scanner, your dentist will develop a treatment plan designed to target the infected or damaged pulp. On the day of the procedure, you will receive local anesthesia while sitting in one of our comfortable treatment chairs.

Once we are satisfied that you are numb and pain-free, we will isolate the tooth with a rubber dam so that saliva does not reach the affected area. Your dentist will then make a small opening in the crown of the tooth, accessing the inner layers. After clearing out the canals and pulp chamber, he will sanitize the area to remove any remaining bacteria and debris. A biocompatible solution, gutta-percha, will then be applied before the tooth is sealed to minimize reinfection.

After a week or so, a customized dental crown will be placed on top of the tooth to restore its appearance and strength.
